Manual for Electro-chemical Marking Machine

FOR: ECM-2000/ECM-3500 (It is strongly recommended that you read carefully the following before use!)

1.Installation:
1) input: 220V AC/50HZ
2) put carbon pad on the marking head, then put conductive net on the carbon pad, fasten conductive net with rubber bands.
3) red fork (of marking head set): connect to red port on machine
4) black fork (of marking head set): connect to black port on machine
5) black clamp (of marking head set): connect to a piece of stainless steel sheet.(to conduct electricity from workpiece to black clamp)
6) pour electrolyte into dish, sponge is for absorption of electrolyte.
7) Pls note ECM-2000 has 1 marking head set, while ECM-3500 has 2.

2.Turn On:
1) turn on the power
2) adjust Voltage(see the red figure on the machine) to a suitable value. Normally speaking 4~9V is the normal range, the lower the voltage the longer lifespan for the stencil.

3.Marking:
1) put workpiece on steel sheet, we advise that you wipe clean the workpiece.(for larger lot marking, you need a tooling to fix the workpiece.)
2) put stencil on the wokpiece(never move the stencil when marking),dip the marking head into the electrolyte, press the marking head on the stencil. Normally higher voltage needs shorter time. You can also fix the stencil when marking, if you like.
3) After marking, wipe clean or wash clean the workpiece, if the metal is easy to rust, don’t forget to apply anti-rust oil.
4) When marking, often wipe the back of stencil to clean the dirt that stick to the stencil.
5) After marking, clean the stencil with water, and dry in room temperature.
6) If electrolyte was still left after one day use, just leave it in the dish; you can add some distilled water the next day because some water may have been evaporated over the night.

4.Important Notice:
1) never let the marking head touch the metal sheet or workpiece directly.(without stencil) Always remember to put the marking head back to dish after marking.
2) Wear rubber gloves against the corrosive electrolyte, better mark in good ventilated area or wear chemical protective masks.
3) This machine has one year quality guarantee period, never open the machine by oneself. Otherwise we are not responsible for any damage or incident.
4) Stencil: normally has life span over 1000 punches; avoid folding or cutting; clean in water and dry in room temperature after use.You can also use common computer driven needle printer to print on wax paper stencil as temporary stencil. This kind of wax paper stencil can be easily bought in stationery store but its life is as short as only 10 punches. So it is only suitable for variables such as serial numbers.
5) Electrolyte: valid for 2 year under normal temperature.
6) Conductive Net: Inspect the conductive net daily, esp. when the workpiece is rough or sharp.
7) Carbon Pad: normally wears off after 10,000 punches.
8) KEEP EVERYTHING AWAY FROM CHILDREN OR INEXPERIENCED HANDS!
